Jakarta – PT Indo Tambang Raya Megah Tbk (ITM) granted scholarship in the forms of tuition fee, living allowance, books allowance, final assignment allowance, and a laptop to 8 students from 4 different universities in Indonesia.

The signing ceremony was held on July 31 2008 in Ventura Building, Jakarta. The scholarship receivers, representatives from each four universities, and President Director of ITM Somyot Ruchirawat put their signatures on a scholarship agreement.

“This is a kind of our contribution to this country,” Somyot said. He added that ITM is recruiting 20 fresh graduates with mining engineer background who will have been ready on boat by September 2008.

The students will receive Rp2.1250.000 tuition fee per semester, Rp500.000 living allowance, books allowance, Rp1.000.000 thesis allowance and a laptop. After graduation, they will undergo a service agreement at ITM or its subsidiaries. The scholarship will be effective for 2 years or 4 semesters in a rows

“Thanks for providing this scholarship to our students,” Indrarto, a dean of engineering faculty of Bandung Technology Institute (ITB) representing university parties, gave his speech. According to him, it showed that directly ITM had been actively involved with university education activities. “I hope that our cooperation will go on in the future.”

“We will not waste ITM’s trust on us,” Anas Fahmi, representing his fellow students, said.
