ITM conducted Family Day in the Beautiful Miniature Park of Indonesia on August 2nd. Hundreds of ITM’s employee and their family took part in the occasion. The Family Day was dedicated for ITM employees and their family and aimed at tightening brotherhood between families.
The occasion is held once in two years. This year theme of Family Day was “Smart, Fun, and Creative.”
Since 8 am the big family of ITM had been arriving by six rented busses, public transportation, and private vehicles at Arsipel Plaza located inside the Miniature Park.
As arrived, the children were able to find their favorite stands such as drawing stand, fishing, mini golf, shooting arrow stand, story teller stand, and so forth.
At 9 am, President Director of ITM Somyot Ruchirawat opened the occasion and gave a short speech. The opening was followed by the launching of children’s book entitled “The Journey in A Coal Mine” produced by ITM Corporate Communication Department. The book publishing was meant to provide knowledge base about coal mining and its work environment to Indonesian children, particularly those whose parents worked as a coal miner.
Afterwards, the ‘Employee of the Year’ title was provided to Daniel Saragih who worked for Human Resource Department while trophies and prizes were awarded to employees who won some sport competitions held within ITM office.
The stage was filled by dances and songs presented by local band as well as an ensemble group of street children. The performance was alternated by door prize announcement for lucky employees. The lucky ones might obtain prizes ranging from television set, play station, wireless telephone set, and juicer.
In the afternoon, the occasion was continued by doing some tour within the Miniature Park. The employees got on sky lift and monorail cabins and visited some sites such as science museum and fresh water aquarium.
The last stop was Imax Theatre wherein all employees watched documentary film on the richness and the beauty of Indonesian archipelago. The occasion ended at 5 pm and all employees went home then.
