ITM participated in the 2010 Indonesia Environment Week hosted by the Ministry of Environment of Republic of Indonesia, with this year theme of “The Biodiversity as the Future of Our Earth.”
The annual expo was inaugurated by the Vice President of Republic of Indonesia Boediono. Lasting from 3 to 6 June, it was taken part by 180 different private companies, central and local government agencies, education institutions, and NGOs.
ITM alone built a stall symbolizing a recycling process. Within the area, there were some wooden benches and imitative trees as well as tiny shop offering snack foods and traditional clothe produced by ITM’s foster community. There was also a sculptor demonstrating his ability to carve traditional sculptures.
The guests also could found out information about ITM, its subsidiaries, community development dan corporate social responsibility programs shown on the display. They could look at three set of replicas of reclamation activity that happens to be Company’s standard of procedure.
Dozens of visitors queued to join an interactive quiz on ITM. When winning the game, they were allowed to choose a prize they preferred, whether it was a souvenir or tree seedling.
Furthermore, ITM also showed an entertaining humorous theatrical performance on coal to children. Some of the characters were taken from storybook published by the Company “The Adventure to Coal Mine.” Each kid was also given a school backpack as well as storybook “The Adventure to Coal Mine.”
